Included below are kind messages and comments received from families through the various platforms used for communication. Apps include ClassDojo, Remind, email, and Google Voice. Family Engagement has been a personal goal of mine. I believe that having an open line of communication between the classroom and the students' homes helps them to succeed. Using these platforms has allowed the parent-teacher partnership to flourish.
In addition to utilizing apps for parent communication, I have also found that tracking parent communication, especially phone calls provides valuable data on students and keeps an open line of communication between the classroom and home. To do this, I have utilized Google Forms to track communication with parents. The same form is able to be ulitized throughout the school year and data can be exported onto a Google Sheet for easy sorting by student.
In order to keep parents up to date on curriculum, important events, and other classroom information, I have utilized sending home monthly newsletters. This one page newsletter gives parents a quick reference guide to events happening within the school community for that month.
